Award-winning Author Avi Speaks to Students

Leigh Roberts
On Monday, January 25, students in Grades 3-6 had the opportunity to speak with Newbery Award Winner Avi. Avi has written over 70 books, including The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle, Nothing But the Truth, Crispin: The Cross of Lead, and Poppy.
Avi spoke to students in two engaging presentations and answered thoughtful questions posed by our eager young readers.

Third grader Amira shared that she enjoyed the presentation, "because every time we asked a question, not only did Avi answer our questions, but each question came with a story, so we learned about his life."

"I just really liked how interactive he was and how nice he was," says Evelyn, Grade 3, "I also liked how he didn’t have a presentation, but he had us ask questions. It was overall a great experience."

Thank you to the Parents' Association Library Committee and all the faculty and staff for their contributions to help support another super successful author visit! We look forward to hosting children’s book author Margo Sorenson on February 23 for Grades K-2!
