Atalanta,
a demigod, is very courageous for many reasons. First, when she, Meleager,
and an army of all the heroes of Greece are dueling an immense boar, Atalanta
fires the first arrow at the boar, pinning the wild beast right behind its
ears. By risking all of the virtuous heroesŐ lives, not to mention her own
and MeleagerŐs, Atalanta proves her courage and skill. Secondly, when
numerous men she does not love begged to marry her, she declared a race to
solve the problem. She decided that if the man lost, he would lose his head.
However, if he won, he would become AtalantaŐs husband. Fearless, Atalana
risked marrying someone she did not love just so she will not have to marry anyone
in the future if she won. In conclusion, Atalanta acts bravely for all the
reasons stated previously. |
