The Greek god Hermes, god of music and the messenger of all of the gods, was a very inventive god even when he was a baby for two reasons. One reason was that Hermes created the first musical instruments ever played. For example, he used his resourceful skills to make the first lyre out of a tortoise-shell that he found in a grotto and the three strings of this instrument were made out of ApolloÕs cowÕs guts that young Hermes had sacrificed. Later, Hermes gave the lyre to Apollo as a gift because Hermes had stolen ApolloÕs cows, he also made a pipe that he could play out of reeds. Secondly, Hermes was imaginative because he invented written music. Because of Hermes invention of written music, which Zeus thought that was very interesting, Zeus honored him by giving Hermes the title of god of music and a throne on Mount Olympus. These are the reasons that Hermes was a very creative god.
