Apollo

Apollo, the god of the sun, the lyre, the bow, and the chariot, is one of the most impulsive god out of the twelve gods. When he was young, his father Zeus had picked the gifts that he gave to Apollo unlike his sister Artemis, whom his father likes more. When he received his golden bow and beaten gold chariot and arrows, he immediately went to hunt and kill the Python. He did this because the Python had chased his mother out of every light place she tried to rest. Later, when Apollo heard that Marsyas was an amazing musician he was very angry because Apollo was a great player of music and he wanted to be the best. Without thinking, Apollo challenged Marsyas to a musical contest with the Muses as the judges. Whoever won chose what they wanted to do to the other one. Marsyas accepted and they started playing, Apollo with his lyre and Marsyas with his flute. After they finished the Muses could not decide who was the winner, so Apollo yelled, ÒNow you must turn your instrument upside down, and play and sing at the same time. That is the rule. I go first.Ó(p.37) Maryas could not win because it is impossible to play the flute upside down. Apollo was declared the winner and Apollo then he skinned Marsyas, nailing him to a tree. Apollo does whatever he wants whenever he wants, and for this he is one of the most dangerous gods of them all.
