Psyche

AppleMark

Psyche, a human princess, was very unfaithful. Psyche lived in a magnificent castle, where her husband visited her only at night. Never being able to see him in the dark, he forbade her to look at him any other way. One example of how she was disloyal was when PsycheÕs sisters visited her. When they asked to meet her husband, Psyche told them the whole story about her husband being invisible and only visiting her at night. Out of jealousy for PsycheÕs rich life, PsycheÕs sisters convinced her that her husband was a monster and was going to eat her soon. Forgetting all the kind words her husband had said to her, she believed them. Another time when she was treacherous was when she took an oil lamp and looked at the sleeping face of her husband even though he told her many times not to and she agreed everytime. When she recognized her husband as Eros, the god of love, a drop of oil from the lamp fell on to his bare shoulder, which woke him up. Angry, Eros left her standing in the cold ruins of what once was a castle. Therefore, for both of those reasons, Psyche is faithless to her husband.
