Atalanta, a Greek demigod is very strong. One reason why Atalanta is very powerful is because she survived many hardships as a child. When she was only a baby, her father, King of Arcadia, left her out to die in the wilderness because she was a girl. Later a she-bear took her as her own. As only a toddler, Atalanta  wrestled her so-called brother bears. She is forceful because bears are big and they have sharp claws and could easily rip someone to pieces. Also when she became a young maiden, all the men loved her because of her strength and beauty. So she planned to race any man that would risk his life to have her hand in marriage. Obviously almost every man offered up his life. She raced almost every man and she only lost to one, who later became her husband. Those two reasons explain why Atalanta is very able-bodied woman.
