Artemis

Artemis, the hunting goddess of the moon, was very passionate. Ardent, Artemis was devoted to what she believed in, which was always being a virgin and to never let a man approach her. After a long day of hunting one day, Artemis decided to take a bath in a stream. Actaeon, a man who was also hunting that same day, glanced at Artemis naked in the water and was imprisoned by her beauty. Therefore, he hid close by, and he watched her. Seeing the man staring at her, the enraged Artemis turned the intruder into a stag with her magic and whistled for ActaeonÕs hounds to rip him into pieces. Next, the moon goddess was fervent for a different reason. Although Artemis was vehement about her beliefs, she was also devoted towards her mother. Niobe, a woman of many children, confronted Leto, ArtemisÕs and her twin brotherÕs mother. Bragging about her numerous amounts of children, Niobe claimed that she was greater than Leto. Since Artemis and her brother, Apollo, were so ardent towards their mother, they went to NiobeÕs home and killed all of her children. For those two reasons, Artemis was very dedicated to her beliefs and mother but was a cruel murderer, too.
