Narcissus

AppleMark

Narcissus, from the Greek myth Narcissus and Echo, was a vain human boy. Shunning Echo in the woods when she tried to kiss him was one reason that Narcissus was egocentric. He most likely spurned her because he thought himself too attractive and too good for Echo. That action was conceited on his part because Echo was supposedly very beautiful, but Narcissus still rejected her because he found himself too handsome. Furthermore, Narcissus was overly proud of his appearance because when he came to a stream to rest and gazed into the tranquil water, Narcissus fell in love with his own reflection. Therefore, Narcissus was a very self-centered person.
