Athene, the Greek goddess
was very skillful. Due to her ability, men and women gained knowledge in all
areas of their lives. She created the ax, plough, flute, wheel, and sail. She
also made up the science of numbers and taught it to man. Men learned how to
tame horses and women learned how to tend and nurse newly born infants,
animals and human because of her. Also known as the goddess of crafts, she
showed women how to spin and weave. For her own weaving Athene used fleece
from the clouds that was dyed with the colors of the sunset. Battle was
another topic she was very accomplished in. She hated Ares and loved
outsmarting him at war, and even though he had a lot of strength, she often
beat him because she was the mistress of strategy and skill as well. These
are the reasons why Athene was extremely talented. |
