Echo

Echo was an unfortunate nymph in the myth of Narcissus and Echo. For example, Hera, the goddess that married Zeus, found out that Echo had lied to her. When she told her that Zeus went to Mt. Olympus to search for her when he actually was in the woods.  Putting a curse on Echo that only allowed her to repeat the last words of a personŐs sentence, Hera revenged herself. Another reason why Echo was so unlucky was that she wanted Narcissus, a beautiful man, to love her. Because Echo had told her all of the gossip about whom loved whom down in earth. Aphrodite offered to make Narcissus fall in love with her and she accepted. However instead of falling in love with Echo Narcissus fell madly in love with his own reflection in a river.  Instead of falling in love with the nymph, Narcissus fell madly in love with his reflection in a river in the woods. All in all, Echo was a very ill-fated nymph.
