Narcissus, the beautiful boy, was very vain. One example of his vanity was his attitude about others. As he walked in the woods, he thought that he could not be friends with anyone less beautiful than he. He would rather be lonely than lower himself. Another example was his arrogance when he met Echo in the woods. He was rude to her and told her that she was just like every other girl who would faint when they saw him and want to kiss him. Echo was so sad that she asked Aphrodite to make her disappear. Finally, Narcissus showed vanity when he saw himself in the river and fell in love with his own reflection. He loved himself so much that he will not leave the riverbank and eventually died. Narcissus was a boy that is very full of himself and it caused him to be very foolish.
