Hephaestus, the god of fire and blacksmith was very devoted. When he was first born, his mother wanted a beautiful and very talented baby so that she could impress Zeus and make him forget about his other kids. Instead, when the baby was born it was ugly and crippled so she threw it off Mount Olympus. A sea nymph, Thetis, found Hephaestus and she took him to her home. When he was there, he never gave up trying to give her amazing gifts as thanks for rescuing him. Another time Hera took him back to Mount Olympus and gave him a broken mountain to work along with Cyclops as his assistants and a promise for him to marry Aphrodite. After all of this, he was determined to giving her glorious necklaces and bracelets. In the end, Hephaestus had been returned to his parents living happily and making many items and jewels.
