Atalanta

In Greek mythology, Atalanta was a very confident demigod.  For example, when Atalanta discovered that Meleager, a strong fighter and prince, had killed the bear that was like a brother to her, she attacked the man without hesitation.  Even though Meleager was a fierce warrior, Atalanta challenged him to a fight because she was sure she would win.  Also, Atalanta told her suitors that if they wanted to be her husband, they would have to beat her at a race.  If they lost, they would be killed.  Because Atalanta did not want to marry, she arranged the conditions herself.  She was sure that she would win all of the races; she believed herself to be the fastest person in the land.  All in all, Atalanta was extremely sure of herself.
