Medusa, the monstrous Gorgon, was very angry. After Athene
caught Poseidon with the beautiful Gorgon, Medusa, she turned MedusaÕs
beautiful golden hair into writhing snakes, and she transformed her beautiful
golden brown complexion to a green color. When Poseidon saw her new ugly
form, he sent her away. Medusa was now so ugly that she turned all who looked
upon her to stone. For that reason she and her Gorgon sisters went into exile
and plotted to revenge themselves against Athene. Medusa was mad because
Athene transformed her into an ugly monster and made Poseidon send her away.
Another example is when Perseus entered her lair to slay her, in order to
save his mother. She instantly flared up and wanted to kill him just for
trespassing on her land. In conclusion these are examples of why Medusa was
furious at the world. |
