Library
The library is housed in an inviting space that holds over 10,000 books dedicated to meeting the needs of our students, teachers and parents. In keeping with our goal of creating Lifelong Readers, we have filled the library with an impressive selection of picture books, easy readers, and fiction and non-fiction books.
Kindergarteners
to sixth graders
are able to find
just the right
book in our extensive
collection. Our
collection is
continually updated
with the addition
of several hundred
new books each
year. Book selection
is designed to
meet the demands
of our students
for a "good
book to read" and
the curricular
requirements of
our academic program.
Our library is "user
friendly" in
organization with
an online search
and checkout
system, as well
as, Internet
connected.
During the scheduled
weekly forty-five
minute class session,
students learn
how to use the
library and the
online search
system, listen
to a story, have
a quiet reading
time, work on
a project and
check out books.
Additional
library time
is often scheduled
for research
or special class
projects. Students
and parents
are able to check
out several
books at a time
and return or
renew them after
a week. The library
holds a yearly
Book Fair for
students to purchase
books for their
own collection.
