The John Thomas Dye School is proud of its 15,000 volume Library and its ability to provide services to K-6 students, teachers and parents. The Library is housed in an inviting space filled with an impressive collection of picture books, easy readers, fiction and non-fiction books.
Students are able to find just the right book in our extensive collection. The collection is continually updated with the addition of several hundred new books each year. Book selection is designed to meet the demands of our students for “a good book to read” and the curricular requirements of our academic program.
Our goal is to create lifelong readers and to develop an understanding and appreciation of the power and influence of words, books and writings. During class, students learn the Library system, check out books, have a quiet reading time, work on a project, and often listen to a story.
Parents are invited to work in the Library and to check out books.
