A recent transplant to Los Angeles, Kate Merritt joined The John Thomas Dye School community in 2018 as the Director of Advancement, overseeing fundraising, communications, and alumni relations at JTD. Kate has spent the past ten years working in independent schools, including positions at Cate School in Carpinteria, California, and Shorecrest Preparatory School in St. Petersburg, Florida. A native of Missouri, Kate received her BA in Communications from Wake Forest University where she was also involved in film production, vocal music and theatre. Kate, her husband Sean, and their twin boys Oliver and Miles (current JTD students!), live in Los Angeles, and are enjoying exploring their new city!
Carolyn Crosson is the mother of three JTD graduates, Kelly '08, Casey '11, and Kevin '15, and has been a part of the JTD community for nearly two decades. In that time, she has been an active member of the JTD Parents' Association, serving as a Room Parent, Auction Committee Co-Chair, Fair Committee Co-Chair, and President of the Parents' Association. Carolyn is a lifetime Angeleno. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara and shortly thereafter began her career in advertising.
Nancy joined The John Thomas Dye community in 2013 when her son entered kindergarten. She has been an active member of the Parents' Association, having served on numerous committees and as Room Parent. Nancy then became a Greyhound in her own right when she joined the Business Office as Controller in 2016. In 2018, she moved to the Advancement Office where she serves as an Advancement Associate. Prior to joining the JTD staff, she worked in Admissions and the Business Office at The Archer School for Girls and before that as a television producer. Nancy earned a BA in Government at Dartmouth College, an MBA in Finance at Columbia University, and an MFA in Film and Television at USC.
Malia Gregory '92 Graphic Designer and Social Media Manager
Malia Gregory has been part of The John Thomas Dye School community since 1985, when she came to JTD as a kindergartener. After earning her BA in Studio Art from Reed Colloege, Malia returned to JTD to work as an Associate Teacher in Grades 2 and 3. In 2010, Malia joined the Advancement Office to work on internal and external communications. Malia produces the JTD Yearbook and manages all JTD social media accounts. When not cheering on the Greyhounds, Malia dons the blue and gold to cheer on the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame!
