In Grades 4-6, there are two to three teams in each sport per season, providing opportunities for students at all skill levels. While the athletic program is optional, JTD enjoys a tradition of 100% student participation each year. Each season is about six weeks in duration, with practices being held during physical education classes and approximately six games per season taking place after school. Grade 6 teams are eligible for postseason playoffs.
Athletic Philosophy
The JTD Athletic Program emphasizes participation, sportsmanship, teamwork, effort, and the development of athletic skills.
This type of program enables our Greyhound athletes to experience friendly competition while preparing them for secondary school athletics. Students graduate from JTD with a varied range of sporting skills, an appreciation for the importance of good sportsmanship, and a love of being part of a team.

Instruction of fundamentals, strategies, and team practices work in conjunction with our PE program.
